Ghost Marrow’s earth + death has a claustrophobic intimacy to it. Everything from the cascading synth arpeggios and guitar echoes to Aurielle Zeitler’s voice are like small, phantom touches across the skin. Visceral details build textural walls inside these songs; grating screams are masked by lilting melodies, but only to a point. Elegiac passages glow, an unexpected respite amid overwhelming intensity that, in the end, heightens this music’s impact. A shaded sonic reminder that all things begin and all things end. earth + death is beautiful in unexpected ways, and has stayed etched in my mind for weeks, haunting the darkest corners and brightest horizons in turn.
