Lost in the faded neon vapor, shadows obscure neon lights in the distance, all of it pulling us forward on a resonant string. “Dank U” tries to find its footing, its sonorous glow, but everything is stuck in slow motion. Distractions glide through errant melodies and follow disintegrating guitar lines into an inviting void. Adriaan de Roover looks inward through clouded hollows at the guttural exorcisms and gossamer harmonics in search of unwritten memories. “Dank U” hangs heavy, pulling all the air out of the hidden spaces, bringing our focus to ourselves.
