Whispering pipe organ patterns morph through repetition into a soundworld that’s both immersive and ephemeral. Root timbres may be recognizable in certain forms on “M-3,” but as the piece bounds forward, new energies emerge. The sounds coagulate into cathartic voice expressions and emotionally-dense aural arrangements, even while an airy, free-floating sonic landscape grows around us. An ecstatic thread binds FUJI||||||||||TA’s vocal incantations to the core of this music, though, and the surprise connections between voice and music offer a rich, multi-layered space to hover.
