Track Premiere: Dromedaries + Alexoteric “The Burning Bright Light”

Unexpected collaborations with hi-octane, prismatic results are the kind of fuel I crave. Free jazz improvisation trio Dromedaries (Keir Neuringer, Shayne Dulberger, and Julius Masri) join forces with writer and vocalist Alex Smith (Alexoteric). “The Burning Bright Light” floods the zone with frenetic, charging rhythms blazing the ground floor with a tangled fury. Movement is paramount and constant. Smith charts the path, channeling Uncle Jim while spitting missiles. “I am why mean fight wars, why love tears apart kings.” Neuringer plates everything in gold with dizzying runs that use sharpened notes like arrows. It’s all a staccato, heavy stew that Masri and Dulberger won’t stop stirring. “The Burning Bright Light” goes and goes straight through concrete walls, and then keeps going some more.

The Bright Burning Light will be released on January 24 by Karl Records. Stream below and pre-order HERE.
