Track Premiere: Nick Storring “Roxa 1”

“Roxa 1,” the opening track on Nick Storring’s ninth album, Mirante, is a buoyant homage to Brazil. Opening with a glowing sharpness, like dissonant halos echoing in all directions, it blooms into a lithe, rhythmic reverie. This is music that floats weightless and lush steeped in whimsical melodies. Storring layers countless percussive timbres to keep “Roxa 1” tethered, imbuing an organic air to the tonic atmosphere. The hopeful cadence drives “Roxa 1” toward a bright, sunkissed horizon while repeating chord progressions rise and fall. Possibility feels endless from here.

Mirante will be released by We Are Busy Bodies on March 21. Stream below and pre-order HERE.
