Zachary Good’s “Paco’s one hundred years” drifts with quiet power, each phrase a gentle gesture stretched across time. Four clarinets move in near-unison, their tones warbling just enough to catch the light differently with each pass. The repeating melody is both captivating and serene, a hypnotic reverie that feels like messages written in clouds, always shifting, always on the verge of dissolving. “Written for my grandfather’s 100th birthday,” Good notes, “this track remembers his long and joyful life.” It doesn’t demand attention so much as reward close listening, offering presence through fragility. This is music that breathes with grace, full of memory and motion, never static, always becoming.

Good’s new album, Lake Heritage, will be released by Add Dye Editions on August 22. Stream below and pre-order HERE.
