Field Patterns has left an indelible imprint on me with his soft, flowing soundscapes that evoke feelings of pensive warmth. I often lose myself in his sonic worlds as soon as I hit play. Last year’s self-titled album on Aural Canyon was a psychedelic trip through spiraling landscapes while his newest, Heavy Palms, is a floating tropical dream where whimsy and contemplation melt together in seamless aural glee. It’s a beautiful album that continues the Field Patterns story.
He put together this fantastic mix called ‘Landscape Studies’ that collect tunes that incorporate field sounds or pertain to place/landscape (and a lot of 2021 gems are in the mix). Sit back and follow the path.
