When Past Inside the Present decided to venture into the realm of ambient techno, it makes sense that the first offering from this new series is from two label stalwarts. SYNE is Dennis Huddleston, best known for his work as 36 and Influx is James Bernard (side note: check out the fantastic new awakened souls (his duo with marine eyes) album that’s just out). On PULSE 01, their new split 12″, another side of their musical personalities shines through even if some of the bits that have made their solo work stand out still bleed through. It’s an exciting new dawn at Past Inside the Present.
For this mix, Huddleston and Bernard came together again and pieced together a series of tracks situated in similar zones that will get your day moving in the right direction. I’ve listened to it a dozen times in the last week and it gets better each go.
PULSE 01 is out now on Past Inside the Present. Grab a copy HERE.
