On the second single from their forthcoming record On Juniper, The Early find reflective resonance in liminal spaces. “Lap Swim” hums with transcendent energy flowing from Alex Lewis’s guitar. The tone is perfection, and the spark is a constant shadow lurking in the background. Drummer Jake Nussbaum is the perfect foil for Lewis’s quiet spectacles, bringing frenetic, post-rock-infused phrasings into a communal space decorated with ghost notes and timeless vibrations. “Lap Swim” settles into a stream of grandeur, illuminating hidden messages filtering through angular arrangements and textured percussive waves. The more I listen to this, the better it gets; an absolute stunner!
On Juniper will be released on September 9 via Ruination Record Co. Stream below and pre-order HERE. And if you are in NYC, catch their album release show at Union Pool with Joanna Mattrey and Adeline Hotel on September 10. More info HERE.
