Openings appear beneath the sonic expanses of “tiny flames,” the opening piece on missing scenes new album, sturgeon moon/beaver moon. As the final part of a triptych that began with cold moon/worm moon, resolutions are buried in faint, bubbling rhythms and searing drones. Dawn breaks, holding dissonance at bay as distant oscillations creep through mirrored corridors. It feels as though my mind is playing tricks on me; I can’t help but wonder if those high-frequency glimmers are actually there. Emotional ripples flicker in the periphery, adjusting the aural flow toward a quiet moment to watch the embers gently fade away.
Earth in Sound will release sturgeon moon/beaver moon on June 21. Stream below and pre-order HERE.
