Track Premiere: Private Lives “Trust In Me”

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

Jangling sonic fuses are alight with serrated melodies on the first single from Private Lives’ debut album, Hit Record. Backed by pointed rhythms and propulsive basslines, “Trust In Me” is an unrelenting earworm. Chord progressions buckle into a focused edge, layered through angular structures like zigzagging flames from a plastic flamethrower. Singer Jackie Blenkarn belts out every line leaving us hypnotized and ready to follow wherever, whenever. The chorus is rocket fuel, and when Blenkarn belts out, “I had no choice, so trust in me,” we’re running this post-whatever gauntlet all night long. It’s a remarkable rise, but Private Lives has quickly become one of my favorite bands around.

Hit Record will be released on July 14 via the great Feel It Records. Stream below and pre-order HERE.
