Foxy Digitalis Mix Season 3, #37: Gabriel Birnbaum

I am soaked to the bone, wandering aimlessly through flooded streets and ready to melt into the next fire that catches my eye. Something like that, anyway. Every time I put on Gabriel Birnbaum’s Nightwater | All the Dead Do is Dream, I am misty and romantic, ready to saunter under the midnight glass. Each instrumental phrase is steeped in fading clarity, drawn with a dull point so everything blends together just. Anthems for the ways we never were, the places that only existed in the glimmer of an eye, all wrapped up in magnetic tape like a woozy cowboy lost at sea.

Nightwater | All the Dead Do is Dream is out now on Western Vinyl (including a super limited cassette run!), and this mix from Birnbaum keeps the fires lit until next year. Breathe it in, friends.
