This is unlike any other project I’ve shared on Foxy Digitalis in recent years – it’s an album, but also an object. Nyfida is slow and purposeful, it churns up past laments and spits them out as electronic reflections. Crystalline shards dance and hover in all directions, riding feedback waves and casket memories into aqueous hollows. Polychronopoulos and Anastasakis carve out wide channels for guttural bass runs to snake beyond the void. This music stings and rises.
As if Nyfida wasn’t enough, the duo created a limited edition sound box. It functions as an audio player (to listen to the record), but also encourages listeners “to challenge the enclosed composed material’s form and intended use in perpetuity.” More information (and to order) on the sound box is available HERE.
Stream “Nyfida Pt. 2” below and pre-order the album, out on July 12 via Room 40, HERE.
