Jessica Ackerley weaves entire lives into each note from her guitar, stitching together a stream of reflections to make whole worlds of sound. “All of the colors are singing,” the first single from her upcoming album of the same name, is dynamic and graceful. Featuring strings by Concetta Abatte, drums by Aaron Edgcomb, and Walter Stinson on bass, the lithe ensemble buoys Ackerley’s searching tone with a moving sonic ocean. Pointillistic rhythms skip across emotive crests. Repeating patterns flow outward like memories flickering across time, merging with the ether to paint the sky in warm hues. There’s a timelessness carried through each progression, a wistful edge teetering next to growing whimsy. Ackerley’s music sparks so much imagination, and the video for “All of the colors are singing” heightens this through abstract painting visuals put into motion against expansive backdrops. It sends our minds wandering across the musical views, ready to find our place in the eternal glow.

All Of the Colors Are Singing will be released on August 14 by AKP Recordings. Pre-order HERE.
