Album Premiere: Grykë Pyje “Crepuscular Elixirs”

There’s a moment early in Crepuscular Elixirs where the music settles into a liminal space—somewhere between a wild, psychedelic dream and an immersive, uncanny reality. Sonically adventurous and multifaceted, it’s as playful as it is cryptic, embracing strangeness with open arms. Released via the ever-excellent Artetetra in celebration of their 10th anniversary, Grykë Pyje (the duo of Johannes Schebler and Jani Hirvonen) conjure a hypnotic, celebratory fever from a distant astral plane.

Rippling arpeggios burn neural pathways like a glowing map leading to an unknown deity’s chamber. The music extracts Earth’s natural percussion, filters it through a neon matrix, and sends it flickering into disjointed yet mesmerizing patterns across the night sky. Dystopian electronic fields collide with sacred fantasy realms, creating tangled reveries—intricate songforms in an alien tongue, passing down molecular knowledge through sound. And yet, amidst the layered melodies and overwhelming sensations, Schebler and Hirvonen always find harmony, sculpting a shrine to the dream.

Crepuscular Elixirs is the perfect way to celebrate Artetetra’s decade of sonic exploration. Fourth-world concoctions become fifth-world revelations, manifesting sixth-house wishes. It’s simultaneously maddening and awe-inspiring, but ultimately indelible. Here, wishes become real.

Crepuscular Elixirs will be released on March 21 but can be exclusively streamed in full below. Pre-order HERE.
