“Idioglossia” moves with a nervous, luminous pulse, full of quick gestures and tightly coiled phrasing. There’s a tactile brightness to it, as if tiny signals are lighting up and fading just as fast, while longer melodic tones stretch across the frame like threads pulled taut. It feels animated but controlled, with an emotional undercurrent that lingers just beneath the surface. Even in its busier passages, a sense of attentiveness keeps everything focused and intact. It’s a miniature world of its own, both intricate and quietly glowing, a strange, beautiful little engine of a piece.
Island of Women will be released on August 29 by sound as language. Pre-order HERE.
