Australian composer and clarinetist Aviva Endean creates rich worlds revealed in slow motion. On “Nightwork,” from her forthcoming Room 40 album, Moths & Stars, Endean’s voice is a moving silhouette wrapped around the ghostly arrangements of opaque woodwinds. Each step is a careful push forward into the glowing sonic clouds. “Nightwork” is beautiful but daunting. Endean’s cauldron of aural textures never stops moving, though, and the resonant glimmers continue to pull us deeper.
Moths & Stars will be released by Room 40 on December 2. Stream below and pre-order HERE.
