An ongoing hellbroth churns in the electronic crevices that open Push For Night and Jon Mueller’s collaborative excess, “Lapsed Gasps.” Cryptic, indeterminate images move across the screen to help scatter the shuddering waves of sonic debris, droning oscillations into new, impossible shapes. Mueller and Push For Night bend our imaginations around eerie landscapes permeated by searching midnight sounds. Footsteps stalk the quiet howls, moving across the spatial plane unhurried yet determined, a rhythmic reminder of the ghosts haunting us all. “Lapsed Gasps” is rich in fascinating textures, even if we end up smothered in darkness.
